This pastry phenomenon is a true Batesville tradition that dates to the early 1970’s. Every February Schmidt’s Bakery makes more than 200,000 of these delectable donut fritters. They are made fresh every day for 5 days – from Thursday through President’s Day Monday. The Main Street Connection
Cherry Thing-a-ling brings more people downtown than any other singular event during the year. It is an opportunity to showcase our small town and local businesses. As part of the “Cherry Thing-a-ling” experience, Batesville Main Street hosts a Hospitality Center on the weekend of the 5-day event in the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce – just a few steps from Schmidt’s Bakery.
